4 Computer Vision Companies For The Metaverse

Cracking Technology

It’s obvious that as the Metaverse develops into the thing the Metaverse Insider thinks it will inevitably become (something beyond huge), computer vision companies are going to play a key role in that journey in us being able to experience the virtual world like never before.

To do that will take some cracking technology and experts whose talents go beyond the normal. We will now take a quick look at four extraordinary computer vision companies making this dream a reality.

1. Actronika

Based on more than 30 years of research, Actronika has developed haptic technologies that enable tactile feedback to be seamlessly integrated into human-machine interfaces. Actronika’s technologies can be integrated into a plethora of devices, such as smartphones to enhance user experience, vehicle touchscreens to curb distraction while driving, game controllers to improve immersion. The possibilities are endless.

Founded in 2016 by Gilles Meyer, Rafal Pijewski and Vincent Hayward, the Paris-based startup has raised a total of $1.4 million in funding.

2. FOVE

FOVE is a Tokyo, Japan-based company founded in 2014 by Yuka Kojima. It is the creator of the world’s first eye-tracking virtual reality headset.

To date, it has raised a total of $23.2 Million in funding over eight rounds.

3. WorldViz

WorldViz is the industry leader in turnkey interactive 3D visualization and simulation solutions for Fortune 500 industry and government clients, including NASA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Toyota, Nissan, Siemens, Procter & Gamble, Disney, Turner Construction, NIH National Institutes of Health, Stanford University, and MIT.

Applications of WorldViz solutions include Product & Design Visualization, Safety & Industrial Training, Defense & Military, Consumer Research & Insight, Interactive Education, Social Interaction Research, Vision Science & Spatial Cognition Research.

The company’s Virtual Reality solutions come with the industry’s favoured 3D multi-purpose software platform VIZARD, custom application programming, 3D graphics design, real-time optical motion tracking, and expert onsite installation & training.

Founded way back in 2002 by Peter Schlueer, Worldviz has raised 5.8 million in funding over three rounds.

4. Intersense Inc (a Thales company)

InterSense Inc. is a market leader in precision motion technology. Its patented Hybrid Technology tracks motion with an unmatched combination of real-time positioning, tracking and alignment capabilities. Through bringing higher speed and quality to visual simulation, enhanced vision and navigation applications. InterSense’s premier motion tracking products enable real-time, realistic interaction with computer graphics to enhance technical applications. Both in training and simulation, robotics, augmented reality, 3D virtual displays, video/film/game development and more. In addition to a marquis global customer base spanning the military, industrial, entertainment, research, engineering and life sciences industries. Furthermore, InterSense also works with a network of software solution partners, systems integrators, value-added resellers and OEM hardware partners.

Founded in 1996 by Eric Foxlin, InterSense began as a commercial extension of Foxlin’s pioneering research at MIT. The business grew to become a leading supplier of cutting-edge technology that includes an impressive portfolio of patented products. In 2011, InterSense was acquired by the Gentex Corporation, and in 2012, Thales Defense & Security, Inc. acquired both Visionix and InterSense from the Gentex Corporation.
