Revolutionising Media with MILC Founder Hendrik Hey and Licensing Manager Richard Flynn

Last week, we announced a partnership with MILC, a platform seeking to revolutionise the global media industry through Metaverse realities. The company aims to bring creators and audiences under a single platform, limiting barriers to creativity.

The platform is fundamentally designed to solve four key problems associated with the global media industry. That being the global availability of video content, the discovery process, licensing and feedback.

In an in-depth interview with Hendrik Hey, the founder of MILC and Richard Flynn, the senior licensing manager of the platform, I had the pleasure of finding out more about MILC, its origins, and the platform’s goals.

If you haven’t already checked out our press release on our strategic partnership with MILC, make sure to check it out here.

To start the conversation, Hendrick, the founder of MILC, explained the origins of the platform. It originally started as a content marketplace – designed to solve four fundamentally important challenges of the global media industry: Global availability of all video content, discovery process for buyers, complex licensing for the entire industry, and early feedback from its audience.

Through the power of the Blockchain, Richard and Hendrick also explained how the MILC platform would bring content creators and consumers together.

‘ For the first time, MILC will build a bridge between the audience and the content creators, buyers, and distributors. This connection will allow the audience to directly impact and receive benefits from the creation & distribution of quality new content.”

MILC Benefits Creators, Publishers and Consumers

Of course, joining the MILC platform and engaging in its active community means that you can reap a range of benefits. Those include benefits for content creators such as increased freedom in monetisation, easier promotion, funding and even advantages to publishers like faster access to content and lower licensing fees.

Viewers can benefit from accessing content at the lowest possible prices. Thus, for all parties involved, the MILC platform helps all.

Hendrick and Richard explained their work with Devla and their Babylon JS to realise their 3D immersive website and the platform’s Metaverse. Recently, the MILC platform launched its social network platform as an extension to its Metaverse.

The first platform ever to have a social community platform with its own Metaverse. The community platform enables content creators, distributors and buyers to virtually experience content.

It was an impressive feat for MILC, but it’s no surprise considering the team’s experience behind the project. Hendrik, the founder of MILC, has over twenty-five years of experience leading Welt der Wunder TV, a free to air TV network in Germany and Switzerland. Hendrick has also been elected to the Advisory Board of the MediaVerse project. The EU-funded Innovation Action (IA) MediaVerse.

Similarly, Richard has a background in international film and TV licensing/distribution. He has over 11 years of experience at Warner Bros. Pictures, and has become a key player at MILC.

Welcome to the Megaverse

I asked Richard and Hendrick how they see the wider Metaverse and how their platform sits. They explained they see MILC sitting in what they call the ”Megaverse” a larger ecosystem of interconnected metaverses that stress the importance of community ownership through decentralisation rather than assets being treated as products.

We also dived into the core infrastructure of MILC, with the fundamental economics of the MILC platform focusing on its MLT token and its three pillar model of tokenisation, which includes the platforms MLT token, MLT-S security token and of course, its MLT-N NFT token. During our interview, Hendrick also explained the use of advertising money to reduce volatility associated with tokenisation, offering a new approach to rewarding members of the MILC platform.

MILC partners with Metaverse Insider

Alongside its extensive infrastructure, the platform has also formed several notable partnerships, such as with the AIOZ Network and Film verdict, including yours truly, the Metaverse Insider.

Piggybacking off of this, we discussed what we are most looking forward to regarding our strategic partnership. We highlighted that providing valuable educational content to our audiences is key, helping both platforms to raise their profile.

“We are very proud to be partnering with The Metaverse Insider. We look forward to collaborating together to bring greater awareness and insight into the dynamic metaverse industry”.- Richard Flynn Senior Licensing Manager at MILC Platform

To round off our conversation, Hendrick and Richard explained in more depth their plans for the future of MILC. They outlined their goal to have a community of 20 million by the end of 2022 by attracting prominent influencers to help grow their platform.

They also want to launch their own TV channel about the Metaverse while partnering with more gaming, music, and art related projects. You can check out their roadmap here.

We want to thank Hendrick, Richard and the team at MILC for partaking in this interview. We cannot wait to integrate further with the MILC platform and educate the masses on web3.
