Joint Project
According to news on Inside World Football yesterday, Spain’s LaLiga, via StadioPlus, has teamed up with US blockchain and metaverse specialist Vegas City Limited to develop a joint project in the Decentraland metaverse, an open-source VR world built on the Ethereum Blockchain.
Vegas City, one of the largest districts within Decentraland, allows users to create, experience and monetize their content and applications.
LaLiga — Spain’s professional football league and a trailblazer in guiding football down the path of new opportunities in the era of Web3 — has licensed the use of intellectual and industrial property rights to StadioPlus for their commercial use in the Decentraland metaverse, to create a series of LaLiga-themed land parcels within the Vegas City district.

“We are very excited to work with LaLiga, StadioPlus and Decentraland to develop a football project that will surprise and offer new experiences to our audiences. We are tapping into Decentraland’s capabilities to deliver high-value, Web3-enabled content,” said James Ashton, CEO of Vegas City Limited.
