Spanish Fast Fashion Brand Zara Reveals Latest Metaverse Project in Zepeto

Making a Mark

With luxury clothing brands like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, and Givenchy already with a presence in the Metaverse, fast fashion chain Zara is showing the catwalk icons that high-street clothing brands can make their mark, too.

Available on Zepeto

Zara was established in 1975 and founded by one of the wealthiest men on the planet, Amancio Ortega. Its metaverse-based project unveils its new Y2K Creatures collection, made up of both digital and physical products, and like Metaverse collections Zara has done in the past, the Spanish fashion brand will release some products exclusively as digital items, only available through open world platform Zepeto, such as a photo booth, hairstyles and nail designs, with some inspired by Zara’s first digital creations while its physical versions were created after. The project is the fast fashion retailer’s third collaboration with the metaverse platform, after its first collection with Ader Error and its second ‘Lime Glam’ line. The project includes the phygital collection, consisting of ten clothing items: a vest, three sweaters, a heart-shaped top, a strapless dress, flared pants with feathers and two skirts, next to a selection of accessories.

In a press release, the Spanish brand based in A Coruña, Spain, said:

“This method of creation emphasizes the fact that now, more than ever, the digital and physical universes are interconnected and reinforce each other.”
