1. TheMEGLAND
The MEGland team is building a community metaverse where online gamers can compete, design, share, and live virtual experiences. Based on the Ethereum blockchain, the virtual world of TheMEGLAND tries to change the dynamics of the video game market with the principle of Play-to-Earn (P2E) and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) in an Open World game.
Based in Paris, France, TheMegland was founded in 2020 by Faheem Zafar.
2. TypeTail
TypeTail is an augmented reality (AR) studio building products to enable the next generation of user experience and creativity powered by immersive technologies.
Its flagship AR engine simplifies hundreds of AR codes into simple, powerful features on an intuitive interface to help you build complex, visually stunning virtual experiences with surprising ease.
TypeTail’s pilot product is “Amend”, an interactive, stunningly detailed, deeply immersive metaverse and AR experience for consumers looking to inhabit a new world mirroring their reality. It uses the power of gamification and interactive storytelling in order to help humans become more environmentally sustainable.
With headquarters in Chennai, India, TypeTail was founded in 2016 by Krishnan Narayanan, Monish Rajendran and Nupoor Rajkumar.
3. Block Ape Scissors
A Brisbane, Australia-based startup founded in 2021 by the two-person founding team of Dan Fong and Matthew Hutchins, Block Ape Scissors is building a metaverse gaming Play to Earn ecosystem, called an ‘Earniverse’, that integrates NFTs as transferable in-game assets for utilization by characters, providing boosts and earning multipliers for platform token rewards.
The platform will feature an array of game types, models and genres to cater to the diverse interests, availability and backgrounds in gaming. Block Ape Scissors’ vision integrates DeFi, NFTs, Gaming and Play to Earn together, forming a thriving Earniverse that leverages the Metaverse.
4. GAME Credits
GAME Credits is a gaming cryptocurrency with an NFT platform founded in 2014 that is building a strong technology and governance framework, leading to a 100% community-managed metaverse that exists for a long time in the future.
5. Ancient8
Ancient8 is developing the infrastructure for GameFi with a focus on software and community by building GameFi Identity and Launchpad products to serve as the marketing distribution channel for GameFi and Metaverse projects to onboard millions of users.
Ancient8 manages Vietnam’s largest blockchain gaming guild and enables everyone to build the Metaverse through blockchain software products, guild scholarship, blockchain education, institutional-grade research, and community. Ancient8’s vision is to democratize social and financial access in the Metaverse.
Based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Ancient8 was founded in 2021 by Howard Xu and Nathan N and has raised some $6 million from outside investment to date.
